Shirley Liu has trained with several acclaimed professional teachers for many years. She was one of the winners in the 2023 NATS Classical Singer Competition for the Cascade Chapter. She has sung various styles of songs, including opera, operetta, and art song in multiple languages, and has participated in many performances, recitals, and masterclasses as a soloist and in duets, trios, and quartets. She is the member of the Oregon Chorale and Light Opera of Portland. She also dances ballet.
