Auditions
The Light Opera of Portland is a volunteer resident musical repertory company and casts from its membership for leading roles and chorus. You can sign up to be a company member at our production auditions, which will put you on our company announcements mailing list, and give you priority inclusion over non-company members.
We are very excited to announce our upcoming auditions for our fall 2026 production of H.M.S. Pinafore!
If you are already a company member, and are interested to being part of our chorus, you will not need to audition specifically for this show. Simply indicate that you are interested, and provide your voice type, and you will be put forward for consideration. We cannot guarantee that everyone who submits an interest request will be cast.
If you are not already a company member, or if you are an existing member interested in one of the following roles, please indicate on the form accordingly. You will need to audition on Sunday the 28th of June with the materials provided at our preview event on Sunday the 21st of June. Both the preview and auditions will be held at St Andrew's Lutheran Church, 12405 SW Butner Road, Beaverton OR. If you are unable to attend the preview, and are interested in auditioning, please indicate on the form so that we can email the materials to you on the 21st. Also, if you are not able to attend the auditions, please indicate this so that we can arrange an alternative.
We aim to have the cast list posted by 07/03/26, though this is not guaranteed. Everyone who submits an interest form will receive a response before the cast list is posted. Our first rehearsal will be a full read and sing through on Sunday 07/26/26, with music rehearsals beginning on Tuesday 08/11/26.
