Beatriz Abella, mezzo-soprano and voice teacher, received a B.A. in Music from Southern Oregon University; awards include “Grand Winner” of the National Young Musicians Showcase Competition, and First Prize with the additional “Best Performance Award” with her duet partner Mandee Light in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. She was highlighted in the two award recitals in NYC’s Carnegie Hall. Performance locations vary from Alaska to the Oregon Cabaret Theatre and European countries; Beatriz was fortunate to have her international solo debut concert hosted by the University of Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico. She was last seen in Camelot Theatre’s South Pacific as “Bloody Mary,” Mary Poppins as “Miss Andrew,” and was the Music & Vocal Director in Annie Get Your Gun. She has studied under Laurie Hunter and Ellie Holt-Murray.
