David has been active in theatre for over 35 years. He recently retired from the Beaverton School District after a 30-year teaching career where he taught theatre arts, language arts, and social studies. He holds an Ed.M from Oregon State University and a BA in Theatre from Lewis and Clark College.
He was first introduced to Gilbert and Sullivan in college when he played Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore and Lord Tolloller in Iolanthe. He’s been smitten ever since. Some of his favorite credits include such roles as Jonathan Jasper in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Jonathan Peachum in The Three-Penny Opera, the minstrel in Once Upon a Mattress, and Otto Von Bruno in Bullshot Crummond. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of The Young People’s Theatre Project. He looks forward to celebrating many years of Gilbert and Sullivan with Portland audiences.
