Singing has always been a big part of Woody’s life. Woody started singing in grade school choir, sang throughout school and in church choirs. In his 20’s he performed with several groups in Salt Lake City including the Artist Repertory Theatre, Promised Valley Playhouse Theater, and the University of Utah where he played the Grand Inquisitor in Candide.
After moving to Oregon Woody took a long break while raising two daughters and working in the tech industry. More recently he has joined the Multnomah Community Choir, Portland Jazz Singers Foundation, and sang with PCC Jazz classes. He also performed in Into the Woods with Beaverton Civic Theatre.
When he is not performing on stage he is often behind the scenes building sets and specialty set pieces for local theater companies. One of his favorite pieces to construct was the Grauman’s Chinese Theater front façade for Masque and Mirror’s production of Singing in the Rain.
Woody has performed in the Light Opera of Portland’s:
- Iolanthe (2016)
- Ruddigore (2015)
