Rebecca Stuhlbarg, soprano, loves to sing opera, art song, musical theater and choral music, and is honored to be part of Light Opera of Portland! She was featured as Casilda in The Gondoliers, and in the title role of Iolanthe. Past roles with other companies include Debbie Terry in Three Christmases, Olga Olsen in Street Scene, Vera Boronel in The Consul, and Ruth Putnam in The Crucible. She graduated with a M.A. in Vocal Performance from University of California at Santa Cruz, where she studied voice and conducting. After receiving her masters degree, Rebecca showed her skills as a crossover singer in the starring role of Lisa in The Cannabis Cantata by Joel Ford. She has sung with Opera San Jose and choral groups such as Ariose Singers and Choral Arts Ensemble of Portland. Rebecca currently studies voice with Nancy Olson Chatalas. She is also a choral conductor and is honored to direct the Healing Voices Choir and the choir at Congregation Neveh Shalom.
